There is no specific subject to choose in 11th and 12th to become an IAS officer.
IAS - INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer one has to complete Graduation to appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for ST/SC candidate up to 5 years and for OBC candidate up to 3 years. The selection is through three phases:- CSAT-CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST-PRELIMINARY EXAM CIVIL SERVICE MAIN EXAM PERSONAL INTERVIEW As you are interested for IAS so during your regular studies of 11th on wards you should start preparation for IAS so that it will be easy for you when you will sit for Civil Service exam after Graduation. Hi,
you choose any stream to become a IAS officer. Because there is no criteria of the subjects choose for the exam. IAS stands for Indian Adminstration Service. This exam is conducted by the upsc once in a year. Eligibility criteria: the candidate should complete the graduation any stream from any recognized university. There is no minimum percentage required only pass the graduation. Both male and female candidates are eligible for the exam. But the candidate citizen of india. The age limit of candidate should be between 21 to 30 years. The relaxation for the sc/st and obc candidates. The number of attempts for the general category is 4. The sc/st candidates 7 attempts. The minimum qualification need for this exam is graduation in any discipline from a recognized university of india. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 1.Candidate should complete graduation from a recognized university. 2.Age limit for this exam 21 to 30years. 3.Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates 4.3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates. 5.5 years for SC/ST candidates. 6.Candidate should be a citizen of india. 11th and 12th are too early to start preparing for IAS. Its good to see that you are clear in terms of your goal For time being you should consider on your 11th and 12th. and try to score good marks in your which ever course you enroll For appearing for IAS, you first need to complete your graduation You should do graduation in field of your interest, to score good marks There are three stages of exam Preliminery mains interview Following is the eligibility criteria for IAS You should be Indian You should be graduate Age criteria For IAS exam Minimum age is 21 and maximum age is 30 year for genaral candidate and There is age relaxation provided to OBC and SC/ST candidate is 3 year and 5 year respectively Educational Qualification Candidate should be graduate from recognized university Final year candidate are also eligible for this exam. there is no limit of percentage mark All the best |

Actually if you realy want to join IAS or any other civil services There is no bounding to choose any particular stream. But in my opinion humanities is the best option. As through humanities you would have the knowledge of all the required subjects. Wish u all the very best for your aim |
