Well friend,
To become IAS officer you have to Write Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.In Civil services Exam there are two stages.One is preliminary and Another One is Main Exam. like starter And Main course. Those who clear the Prelims Exam, then He/She will be able to write Mains. For Prelims Syllabus/Pattern,It consists of General Studies and Optional Subject(to be selected form 25 subjects Agriculture Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science,Botany,Chemistry,Civil Engineering,Commerce,Economics,Economics (for Visually Impaired candidates),Electrical Engineering,Geography,Geology,Geology (for Visually Impaired candidates),Indian History,Law,Mathematics,Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science,Philosophy,Philosphy (for Visually Impaired candidates),Physics,Political Science,Public Administration,Psychology,Statistics,Sociology,Zoo logy) The same pattern is also for MAINS but its a next level in contrast to type(Harder than Prelims) of the paper With best Wishes. |

The IAS exam has three stages Preliminary exam Main exam Interview The preliminary exam has been replaced by civil service aptitude test from the year 2011.An aptitude test is designed to check the candidates intelligence, reasoning sence, arguementative capacity, aesthatic sense, analytical ability and command over a language. The main exam for the IAS comprises of compulsary and optional subjects. The compulsary subjects for the Main exam are one Indian language, English, Essay and General studies. Following are the optional subject for the IAS main exam: Agriculture Mathematics, Animal Husbandry & Vetinary Science, Mechanical Engineering Botany, Medical Science, Chemistry, Philosophy, Civil Engineering, Physics, Commerce,Political Science ,Economics ,Psychology Electrical Engineering Public Administration, Geography, Sociology, Geology, Statistics, Indian,History, Zoology,Law. |

The UPSC CS Exam is take in three phase ie. Prelim and Mains and Interview round. The Prelims will consist of two papers i.e GS and Aptitude Test The syllabus for Prelims is attached in the message The mains consist of two optional papers, a gs paper and compulsory hindi and english language test. this exam is conducted by UPSC the eligibility is The main basic eligibility criteria for Civils Service Examination ->Candidate must have 21 years of age ->Candidate must complete at least degree from a recognized Indian University this is all about the basic eligibility criteria of CSE As per your qualification if you have completed Degree then definitely you are eligible for the exam.. You can go through the examination code for Civil Service Examination in the official website of UPSC i.e. www.upsc.gov.in coming to syllabus for this exam is divided as the exam is divided into two parts that is preliminary and Mains. for preliminary there will be no special syllabus the syllabus is common for all the candidates for Mains you can choose the subjects among the listed subjects and the main pattern you can check it in the uploaded photo.. best wishes ~aditya~ |

If you are interested in IAS Then you can follow the syllabus below : IAS Preliminary Exam Syllabus 2012:- (Paper 1) (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs. * Current events of national and international importance * History of India and Indian national movement * Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world * Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc. * Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc. * General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization * General science.
