CDS stands for Combined Defence Services Exam. This Exam is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).
This Exam will be conducted to recruit the candidates into -IMA (Indian Military Academy) -Indian Naval Academy -Indian Air Force Academy -Officers Training Academy. Here is the required age limit for the candidates to apply for the respective Academy. -One should be in the age group of 19-23 years of age to be eligible to apply for IMA. -A candidate should possess an age between 19-22 years of age to be eligible to apply for Naval Academy. -In order to be eligible to apply for Air Force wing, one should possess an age between 19-23 years. There is no relaxation in upper age limit for the candidates of any category and even for Defence Personnel also. Even though you are a defence personnel, you should have to complete your Graduation to apply for this exam. No relaxation will be provided to you in age limit. (iii) For Air Force Academy : Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering. Graduates with first choice as Army/Navy/Air Force are to submit proof of graduation provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB. CDS(Combined Defence Service) exam is conducted by the UPSC(UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION) two times every year i.e CDS-I, CDS-II. CDS has three wings: Indian airforce, Indian naval academy, Indian military academy, Officer training academy. Eligibility criteria: The candidate should be complete graduation or equivalent degree from a recognised university. Being a final year candidate also eligible. Percentage is not required for this exam. Age criteria: For naval academy 19 years to 22 years, For airforce academy 19 years to 23 years, For military academy 19 years to 24 years, For officer training academy 19 years to 25 years. The age limit for CDS examination is mentioned below for different academies of Defence.
Indian Air Force Academy- 19 to 23 years Indian Naval Academy- 19 to 22 years Indian Military Academy- 19 to 24 years Officers Training Academy - 19 to 25 years There is no age relaxation for any categories and it is same for every category. So don't expect any kind of age relaxation if you are applying for CDS examination. The educational Qualification required for CDS exam is Graduate in Any discipline if you want to join Indian Army. For Air Force and Navy you must have Graduation in Engineering or Maths or Physics. The selection will be based on the performance in the written examination, SSB interview and Medical Examination.
