IBPS has recently reviewed the qualification required for clerical post. Candidates having completed graduation are eligible for the position of clerk. Graduation in any subject is the qualification specified for P.O till last time. SBI conducts own entrance test for selection. In case of SBI, 12th passed candidates with 60% marks can apply for clerical post where as graduates can apply for P.O jobs.

Dear Friend

Generally there are two types of entrance examination in India for getting placed in banks for the post of clerk or probationary officer .

First one is the IBPS CWE which stands for the Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection common written exam .

The scorecard of this test is valid for getting placed in twenty nationalised banks for the above mentioned posts.

The eligibility criteria for the IBPS CWE is :

>>You should have bachelor's degree in any of your desired stream in order to become eligible for both the posts .

Even if you are in final year of bachelor's degree then also you can apply for the exam.

The age limit is 20-28 years for the Clerk and upper age limit extended upto thirty years for the probationary officer posts.

Second one is the State Bank of India entrance exam for the Clerk and Probationary officer .

SBI conducts its won written test for the both posts apart from the IBPS exam.

From this year ,for both clerk and probationary officer ,bachelor's degree has become the minimum requirement.

The age limit is 18-28 years for the clerk and 21-30 year for the probationary officer .

As you can see that the minimum academic qualification required is bachelor's degree for both the posts ,so you are not eligible for clerk exam with just 12th as academic qualification.

Note: Relaxation in upper age limit for obc upto three years and sc/st candidates upto five years is applicable in both IBPS and SBI entrance exam.

>>Basic knowledge of computer is compulsory ,at the time of application you need to submit certificate showing your basic knowledge in computer .

>>There is no such % criteria for marks.

For any more detail, please visit www.ibps.in or www.sbi.co.in

Hope the information helps you.If you have any other query regarding this then please leave here .We will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

All the best for your career.

Hi,

As per your qualification, You are not eligible for Bank clerk exam.

With intermediate , you are not eligible for IBPS bank clerk exam, and you are also not eligible for SBI bank clerk exam.

Eligibility for SBI bank clerk exam ~~

You should be 12th pass with 60% marks.

Your age should be between 18 years to 28 years.

So, your percentage makes you ineligible for bank exams, as of now.

So, you can now do graduation and then apply for Bank PO exam.

I am afraid that you are not eligible for any banking exam. In my opinion you should do graduation and then apply for the banking exams. There will be option for you between IBPS Clerical and IBPS Bank PO after completing graduation.

But it is not possible after finishing just 12th standard. Earlier you indeed were eligible for IBPS Clerical exam but lately as per the government recommendations, IBPS changed the qualification criteria for Clerical exam to graduation.

Institute of Banking Personnel Services (IBPS) conduct exams on the behalf of 20 Public Sector Banks in India. But as I pointed out you should complete graduation to appear for any entrance exam.

After graduation you can apply for either IBPS Clerical or Bank PO. If you are eligible for both then I will recommend to go for the Bank PO entrance exam. Below are the criteria for both the exams.

IBPS Clerical/Bank PO Eligibility

1. You should be Indian national to apply for IBPS banking exams.

2. Must have completed graduation.

3. 60 percent marks required for IBPS Bank PO.

4. While there is 5 percent relaxation for SC/ST.

5. No marks criteria for IBPS Clerical exam.

6. You will also have to submit diploma/degree/certificate in Computers.

7. You can also apply if studied Computer Science/IT subject in 12th or college.

8. Age limit is 20 to 28 years.

Relaxation

1. OBC - 3 years is upper age limit.

2. SC/ST - 5 years for the same.

3. PWD - 10 years relaxation is offered.

DEAR FRIEND

You have not mentioned the grade in which you want to appear.

There are generally two grades in which you can apply.

1. Clericle grade

2. PO grade

Both have different eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualification for Clericle Exam

(a) Graduation in any discipline from any recognized university (or) 10+2 examination or equivalent with first class with 60% marks. In case of SC/ST/PH candidates 55% marks.

(b) Knowledge of official language of the state/UT to which the candidate applies is essential.

Education Qualification for Bank PO exams :-

Candidate must have a degree in any discipline from a well known University or any equivalent qualification accepted as such by the Central Government.

No Specific No. of Percentage for IBPS exam eligibility is mentioned, so considering that candidate must only have passing marks in Graduation is enough to get appear in IBPS bank exam 2012.

Syllabus for Bank Clerk Examination :-

Syllabus for Bank PO Examination :-
