For IAS Officer post you have to succeed in Civil Services examination which is organised by UPSC every year.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services for which officers are recruited through Civil Services examination.

Civil Services examination also recruits officers in other services like Indian Revenue Services, Indian Postal Services, Indian Police Services, Indian Foreign Services etc. Your aim is to become IAS officer which is the best posts among all.

First of all you must have the education to become eligible for this exam. The minimum education required is Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.

There is no percentage criteria that means you need only pass marks in Graduation to become eligible for IAS exam.

Age Limit:

Should be between 21 to 30 years if you are an General category candidate. Reserved category candidates can get age relaxation.

SC/ST : 5 years relaxation

OBC : 3 years relaxation

Selection Procedure:

-Preliminary Exam

-Mains Exam

-Interview

Start preparing for above stages as soon as possible because becoming an IAS officer is certainly not a child's play.
