What is the eligibility and syllabus to apply for income tax officer? Can someone please provide me the information on the same? Where we can get the official information on the same? it will be really helpful if you can provide me the answer soon as possible.

Income Tax Officer (ITO) is a prestigious Jobs in Government organization. The candidates have to appear CGL i.e (Combined graduation Level) exam which is conducted thorugh SSC (Staff Selection Commission).

The eligibility criteria :

The candidates should be a graduate in any disicipline ..

The Age limit :

Age limit: 21-30 years ,for OBC: 21-33 years ,& for SC/ST: 21-35 years.

The entrance examination for Income Tax Officer is Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate level examination. The eligibility criteria for this exam is bachelor's degree from a recognized university. The age limit is 18-27 years with upper age relaxations applicable to candidates of reserved category.

Candidates can become Income Tax Officer after clearing all stages of Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate level examination. There are three stages of this exam Tier I and after that it is Tier II and final stage is interview for some posts.

To become Income Tax Officer you have to appear in the SSC exam that is conducted every year. A candidate must have completed graduation from recognised University in any discipline with minimum 50% marks and 45% for reserved categories. Age limit should be in between 21 to 30 years and relaxation is given to reserved categories in upper age limit as per government rules.

For recruitment in Income tax department, you have to appear for CGL examination. CGL examination is conducted by SSC every year.

CGL examination is conducted for recruitment of candidates in government jobs. The eligibility to appear for examination is candidate must have passed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.

To become Income Tax officer, candidates need to qualify SSC CGL examination.
SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission while CGL stands for Combined Graduate Level.
SSC conducts examination every year for recruitment in Income Tax department and other departments in Central Government.

Students need to qualify written tests at two stages and then interview for selection.

Income Tax Officer exam is conducted by SSC CGL exam.

Minimum qualification required to apply for this examination is completing a degree course from a recognized Institution.

Your age should be in between 21 to 27 years.

Age relaxation-

Upper age relaxation for OBC is upto 3 years.
For SC/ ST , it is upto 5 years.
For PWD it is upto 10 years.
