Candidates need to have studied maths, physics, chemistry till class 12 depending upon the course they wish to pursue. There are many courses to opt from in context to Merchant Navy. Candidates need to be 10+2 with minimum 60 per cent and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English in single attempt. Age limit should be between 17 to 25 years. Of course you can join Merchant Navy after completion of class 10 too. There is Deck Cadet Course spanning for 3 Months like It provides the Cadet Pre-sea Training as well as onboard training. Eye Sight 6/6 without visual aids and no color blindness is mandatory. Candidates minimum height should be 163 cm. There should be no physical handicap and speech stammering.
