CBI stands for Central Bureau of Investigation .

To join CBI you need to appear for CGPE exam i.e. Combined Graduate preliminary Exam which is conducted by SSC board every year.

Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for CBI exam.(Criminology)

Age criteria :-

(i) Assistant Grade & Sub Inspectors in CBI –
Age between 20 - 27 years.
(ii) Inspectors of CE / IT & Divisional Accountants/Auditors/ UDCs –
Age between 18 - 27 years.
(iii) Sub Inspectors in Central Police Forces –
Age between 20 and 25 years.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

CBI , Physical Standard for Male Candidate :-

i) Physical Standards ( Minimum )

Height 157.5 cms.
Chest 81 cms. ( expanded of 5 cms. )

ii) SSC Physical Test :

Walking : 1600 metres in 15 minutes.
Cycling : 8 Kms. In 30 minutes.

CBI , Physical Standard for Female Candidate :-

i) Physical standards ( Minimum )
Height 152 cms.
Weight 48 Kgs.

ii) Physical Test

Walking : 1 Km. in 20 minutes.
Cycling : 3 Kms. in 25 minutes.

c) Vision :

Eye-sight ( with or without glasses )
Distant vision : 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
Near vision 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye.

For becoming a CBI Officer you will have to apply for SSC CGL Exam.This exam is conducted in the month of April to May of every year.

In order to apply for this exam you will have to meet these Eligibility condition :-

Educational qualification :- Degree passed out in any stream from recognized university.

Marks :- Your minimum marks in Graduation should be 50%.

Age :- Your age should be between 18 years to 27 years.

You can apply for these posts through this exam in CBI Department :-
-->>Senior Public Prosecutor.
-->>Sub Inspector.
-->>Assistant Public Prosecutor.

Exam Pattern :-
~Preliminary Exam (Tier I).

Is there any problem if the height is 163cms for a candidate of ST catogary from Lakshadweep?

You need basic qualification graduation to write Subordinate Service

Commission/Staff Selection Commission Examination. But because unemployment

many many engineering graduates and post graduate also participating in those

examinations. General physical fitness is enough. You need to have Height 5.2''

and in breathing chest should expand 3" above. You need to be thorough in

general knowledge. You can take examination preparation classes in any

competitive examination preparation classes in any competitive examination

preparation institute at metro cities.

You look for the nitification and apply for the same.
