IPS Stands for Indian Police Service Examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in year . To apply for this examination , the candidate must have a completed graduate degree with any desire subject .

To become a IPS Officer , the candidate must have a crack the Civil Service examination and this examination is divided into three categories :- 1)Preliminary 2)Main 3)Personal Interview .

This year notification was already released and the examination will be held on 20 / 05 /12 . If you are not fill the form then you are missed chance next notification will be publish in the month of Feb or March in official website .

Eligibility Criteria :-

• The candidate need to completed graduate degree with desire subject from a recognized University.
• Age should be between 21 years and 30 years .
• Relaxation is given to the reserved categories .
• Final year candidates are eligible to apply for this examination.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service and to become an IPS officer opne has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam, conducted by UPSC once every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian national having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness.

The candidate should have minimum prescribed physical requirement regarding Height and Chest along with proportionate weight.

The Civil Service Exam can be applied both through off line and on line mode.

Through off line mode the application Form is obtained from General Post Offices.

Educational Qualifications for IPS :
Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.

Number of Attempts:
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

First of all ,I would like to tell you that IPS is neither a course nor a examination but stands for the Indian Police services and comes under the civil services of the Indian Government .

In order to join this course ,first of all you need to apply for the entrance examination for this service called Civil services examinations conducted by the UPSC every year.

Then you will have to crack the different stages of the examination which are :

1.Civil services aptitude test/preliminary exam

2.Main examination

3.Personal interview.

You must ensure that you are eligible for the exam by fulfilling the eligibility criteria mentioned as below:

1.Graduation that is bachelor's degree in any discipline /stream from a recognized university is the minimum educational qualification required for it.

2.The age limit for the exam is 21-30 years .Upper age relaxed upto three years for obc and seven years for the sc/st .
