Paper II Essay in English 150 marks

IPS(Indian Police Service) is a service which comes under Civil Services which is organised every year by UPSC( Union Public Service Commession). To apply for IPS you should fullfills the minimum eligibility Creteria which is Graduation in any stream from any university and should complete 21 years of age. At the time of vacancy you can get registration form from head post office of your area or can apply online.

Well to become an IPS(Indian Police Service) officer, you have to appear in Civil Service Exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission,UPSC.

Application procedure for IPS

Application for IPS available in two modes-

1. Online 2. Offline

-In Online mode, You can apply for IPS Civil service exam online by using following weblink

http://upsconline.nic.in.

FEE detail- Fee through online mode is Rs. 50 only. That you can pay through SBI challan form generated during online application process.


-In Offline Mode, you have to apply using Physical Application Form available on designated post Head post office of your Town/City. The cost of this Application Form is of Rs. 30/- only. After filling this form send it to given address as mentioned in it.



~To appear in this exam,you should have completed Graduation in any specialization from UGC recognized institute.

~Graduation final year candidates also eligible to apply for this exam.

~There is no restriction minimum percentage of Graduation i.e. you can apply at any percentage.

~Age should be-

21 to 30 years for General category

21 to 33years for BC category

21 to 35 years for SC/ST.

~Physical standard for IPS-

Male 165 cm General category & ST/SC (not the OBC) – 160 cm

Female 150 cm General category & ST/SC (not OBC)- 145 cm

IPS - INDIAN POLICE SERVICE, to become an IPS officer you have to appear and crack the Civil Service examination conducted by UPSC every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final graduation degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years the upper age limit of which is relaxed for SC/ST/PH up to 5 years and for OBC up to 3 years, is eligible to apply for Civil Service exam.

The selection is through three phases:-

CSAT-Civil Service Aptitude Test-Preliminary exam which comprises of all objective type questions.
Civil Service Main exam which comprises of all subjective type questions from prescribes syllabus for the exam.
Personal Interview

For those applying for IPS officer, have to undergone certain physical fitness test.

Height should be at least 165cm for male and 150cm for female general category candidate. For SC/ST/OBC it should be 160cm for man and 145cm for female candidate.

Chest for male candidate should be at least 84cm and expandable to 5cm and in case of female it should be 79cm.

All candidate should possess good health condition along with proper eye sight.

IPS is the officer rank job for Police Services and it is organized by UPSC.
The qualification for IPS job is complete the graduation by any recognized university with minimum 55% marks and age should be 21 to 30 .

There is nothing like IPS exam. IPS (Indian Police Service) recruitment is part of the Civil Services Examination conducted by the UPSC every year. Apart from IPS, this exam caters to the requirements of IAS, IFS, IRS and many other services. You have to be a graduate in any discipline to be eligible to sit in the exam. If you are going to appear for the final year exam and the results would be out before the Main exam, then also you can apply.

The exam is conducted in two parts: Prelims and Mains.

Prelims filters out weak and non-serious candidates. Overall, it is a tough exam and one needs to prepare very seriously. Once you enter the Government service through this exam, you will get the status of Gazetted Officer.

For the current year, the process of registration is already on and will close on 5th March. So, if you are eligible, do not waste time and apply immediately.

After graduation you can apply for I.P.S exam.
I.P.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Age should be in between 21-30 year. For ST/SC candidate age should be in between 21-33 year.

CIVIL SERVICES EXAM., 2012
Date of notification:-04.02.2012
Last Date of receipt of form:- 05.03.2012(MONDAY)
Date of exam(Preliminary):- 20.05.2012(SUNDAY)

I.P.S is come under civil services exam.
Civil services exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

You can apply in Civil services exam after passing graduation with any stream.

Age limit:-
For Open category:- 21-30 year
For OBC category:- 21-33 YEAR
For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year

Number of Attempts:-
For open category:- 4 attempts
For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts
