What is the procedure followed for applying job in Indian Navy?


Hello,

I am final year B.E student i want to apply for Indian navy
actually the problem is an off campus drive was conducted in our college
(Ramdeo baba college of engineering and Management,Nagpur) under university Scheme ,but i was unable to attend it .Is there any procedure to apply now?

For joining in Indian Navy being in B.E, you must write CDSE entrance exam and pass it.

Eligibility for CDSE exam :

1. Nationality: A candidates must either be:
i. a Citizen of India, or
ii. a subject of Bhutan, or
iii. a subject of Nepal, or as per government rules.

2. The age limit for joining the Naval academy should not be more than 22 years.
3. A candidate must have completed B.Tech/B.E or B.Sc to join in the Navy.
4. The minimum percentage required to appear for CDSE exam is 55% marks in the qualifying degree.
5. A candidate must be fit physically and mentally.
6. Being in the final year also candidates can apply.
7. Candidates must be unmarried for joining.
8. The exam is conducted twice in a year in the month of August and April.
9. There is no limit for applying the exam.

The entrance exam will be in the 3 stages
1. Written exam

Yes, after the Bachelor of engineering you can apply for the Navy for this you have to pass the written exam and the interview of S.S.B. and after that you can join the Indian Navy.
The exam is conducted for the Navy is C.D.S. and is conducted on the bases of the Graduation as you are a B.E. final year candidate so you could not be below 19 year so you are not eligible for the N.D.A. exam only the C.D.S. is option left for you where the exam is conducted for the all three wings in Indian Armed forces-

Air Wing

Naval Wing

Army wing

Eligibility criteria for it is-

>> candidate should be the Indian with passing graduation from a reputed collage that approved by U.G.C And should be physically fit and eye sight should be 4/4.

>> To join the army wing age must be fall in 19-23 years and for the Air force and navel force it should be upto 19-22 years.

>> And to enter the OTA you should be the 19-25 years and a graduate from a UGC approved University.

Exam pattern for the C.D.S. is as given-

Preliminary and Mains exam. Where preliminary exam includes the three main subjects - Mathematics, General knowledge and English each of 100 marks and a minimum of 2-2 hours.

Mains exam is conducted in English and general knowledge in English and General knowledge each of 100 marks and 2-2 hours of time.

After it two main stages are there that are Medical test and Interview held after it the candidate are selected go for the officer training.

Yes, you are eligible to join the Indian Navy after the B.E course from the recognised university.

To join the Navy you have to qualify in the CDS examination conducted by the UPSC. The required qualifications to appear for the examination is candidates must have passed the graduation from any recognised university and the age between the 19-22 years with the Physics and Mathematics as main subject in the graduation.

So you can appear for the CDS examination going to be conducted in the February next year. For more details for the examination visit at the www.upsc.gov.in.

Yes you can definitely go for the Indian Navy. There is no need of worry if you have missed the university scheme. You can now appear in the CDS examination. This examination is conducted by the Upsc every year for the following fields:-


1. Officer training academy.
2. Indian Army.
3. Indian naval academy.
4. Indian air force.

As you are interested here to join the Indian Navy so, for the Indian Navy it is essential to have a bachelor degree in the science stream or in the engineering stream or in the technical stream.

I.E. the aspirant who wish to join the indian naval academy through the CDS exam, they must have the BSc degree in the science subjects or B.E. degree in any stream or B.tech degree in any stream from a recognised university with good percentile.


There is age bar for the aspirants who wish to appear in this exam. The age limitation for the naval academy is, from 19 years to 22 years.The age of aspirant must lie in between 19 to 22 years to be completely eligible for this exam .

Final Year Candidates can apply for Indian Navy through many opportunities.
  • On-Campus Recruitments.
  • Off-Campus Recruitments.
  • CDS Exam.

As you had missed your On-campus recruitment, then you may visit other nearby institutions where Navy is recruiting candidates.

You can get this information through Daily Employment Newspaper or via Internet.

Other than this, you can appear for CDS Exam.

CDS Exam is conducted twice in a year by UPSC.

After qualifying this exam, you will undergo a stiff training process followed by your joining in Indian Navy.

ELIGIBILITY for CDS Exam
  • You should have attained the age of 19 years and must have not attained the age of 23 years.
  • You must have Bachelor's degree from any recognized Institution.
  • Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for this examination.

Upcoming CDS Exam will be conducted on 1 November, 2015.

However, last date to apply for CDS Exam was 14 August which is passed now.
