What is the procedure we need to follow to become an IPS officer after completion of school? Can you please provide me the complete details on the same? It will be really helpful if you can answer me as soon as possible. Awaiting for the response.

IPS is the civil service examination conducted by UPSC every year. To apply for IPS , first step for you is to complete your graduation in any discipline. For IPS , You will require to prepare well & systematic.

IPS Eligibility
- You must have bachelor's degree in any discipline from recognized university.
- Your age must be betweeen 21 to 32 years. Relaxation applicable 3 years to OBC and 5 years to SC/ST.
- Maximum 6 attemps are allowed for general and 9 for OBC.

Application Procedure
- Go to site : www.upsconline.nic.in
- Click "Apply Online Application".
- Fill the application which contain part-1 and part-2.
- In part-2 , you will have to upload photograph & signature.
- Make a payment through challan & fill the challan detail in application.
- After read the all declaration , click "agree" to submit the application.

IPS Important Dates
- Registration Starts On : 23th April , 2016
- Last Date of Registration : 20th May , 2016
- IPS Preliminary Exam : 7th August , 2016
- IPS Main Exam : 3rd December , 2016

After the completion of school, you must complete your 12 th standard and graduation to apply for IPS examination.
# IPS exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year and it is part of civil services exam.
Eligibility for IPS exam:
-> Bachelor degree or an equivalent examination pass from university grants commission approved college or institution is the educational qualification required to apply for this exam.
-> Age limit to apply for this exam is 21-32 years and the age relaxations for reserved candidates are as per government of India regulations.
-> And maximum number of attempts allowed are : 6 for General category, 9 for OBC candidates and no such restriction for SC and ST candidates.
-> And selection procedure of this exam is preliminary test which is objective type, main exam which is descriptive test and is conducted in 9 papers & personal interview, medical fitness test.
