What are the steps I need to follow to become an IPS officer?


What are the steps I need to follow to become an IPS officer? Can someone please provide me the tips which I need to follow and attain the IPS role? It would be really helpful if you can answer me on this as soon as possible. Thank you!

>> First of all you need to know about the eligibility criteria for the IPS(IAS) exam. This will clear most of your doubts.

1) Graduate.
2) Minimum age should be at least 21 years.


Now if you have just passed your intermediate then you have to do graduation in any of the discipline, then only you will be eligible to apply for the examination.

>> So you have a sufficient amount of time for your preparation.
For now, my advise would be that, you stay up to date with the social events and make an habit of reading newspapers and news. Discuss different sort of facts with your friends, this will help you to retain what you have read.

>>Regarding the course, if you are totally devoted towards IAS, then take any B.sc Course.

>>But if you have some doubt that whether you will be able to crack the exam or not, then try to go for courses like B.tech after which the chances for jobs are much more than the B.sc Course.


On the other hand, if you are graduate then just prepare for the IAS exam and get a good rank to be selected as an IPS officer.

* IPS :- Indian Police Service
* Eligibility Criteria :-
-> Successful completion of graduation with aggregate percentage .
-> Maintaining physique in body

* Firstly you have to participate in UPSC exam .
UPSC :- Union Public Service Commission .
-> This exam is reputated and some what complicated .
-> Totally the questions are based on
a) General Awareness
b) Aptitude
c) Numerics .
d) current affairs .
* This is the written test . After qualifying in this test , you have to appear in physical test .
* They will test you physically in every possible way .
* After qualifying physical test , you need to face interview .
-> They will ask some personal questions and windup your altitude .
** After that successfully you became IPS officer ...

Tips to become an IPS Officer :

>> First thing you must have " Passion " to become IPS Officer.

>> Then you need to have required eligibility conditions in the sense of Educational qualifications, Physical standards.

>> Once you get a graduation into your hands then you will be eligible for " UPSC Civils ". Through this Exam only you will reach your goal.

UPSC Civil's Exam consists of three levels and the selection procedure for IPS Officer is given below.

1.Prelims

2.Main's

3.Interview

4.Document Verification

5.Physical standards for " IPS " .

Once you successfully completed the above process then you will have Training in Hyderabad.
