UPSC(Union Public service Commission) conducts Civil Service Exam for IAS(Indian Administration Service) once in a Year for aspirants who wants to become an IAS officer after completing graduation course i.e. minimum required qualification for IAS.



Requirements to eligible for IAS:
-----------------------------------------

• You should have completed Graduate in any stream from recognized College/University.
  
• Final year Students also eligible on provisional basis.
  
• You must be having a minimum of 50% aggregate in graduation.
  
• Your Age must be between 21 to 33 years for General category, 21 to 35 for OBC, 21 to 35 for SC/ST.
  
• You must be an Indian citizen

Number of Permissible Attempts : 4 for General , 7 for OBC and Unlimited for SC/ST.

IAS - INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer you have to appear and crack the Civil Service examination conducted by UPSC every year for recruitment of top post in Administrative Dept. of Govt. of India.

The eligible candidate should be an Indian National having either appeared for the final graduation degree course or passed from any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years of age which the upper age is relaxed up to 3 years for OBC category candidate and up to 5 years for SC/ST/PH category candidate in order to apply for Civil Service exam.

The selection is through three phases:-

CSAT-Civil Service Aptitude Test- Preliminary exam which comprises of all objective type questions

Civil Service Main exam. which comprises of all subjective type questions.

Personal Interview

General candidate can attempt Civil Service exam for Four times which is allowed Seven times for OBC and no limits in case of SC/ST/PH candidates.

Minimum Eligibility for IAS exam

Minimum Qualification
1.Graduated from recognized university in any discipline.
2.final year student can also apply.

Age should be between
21 to 30 years for General category candidates
21to 33 year for OBC category candidates
21 to 35 years for SC/ST category candidates

Number of attempts
4 attempts for General category candidates.
7 attempts for Obc category candidates
14 attempts for SC/ST category candidates.

There are 3 stages in IAS that should be cleared by the candidate.

first one is preliminary exam (it is objective type exam)
second is main exam (Question to be answer in length)
third is personal interview

Clearing one will get you to another level exam.

Clearing all the stage means that you are an IAS.

To get job as Indian Administrative Service officer,then you should appear for Civil Service exam.This exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission held once in year.

If you crack the civil service exam with good score,then you can get post as IAS officer.

To appear for civil service exam,you should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university.And your minimum age should be 21 years and maximum should be 30 years.

If you fulfilled with criteria,then you can appear for civil service exam this year.

Preliminary exam notification will release on 4th Feb 2012 and closes on 5th March 2012.Exam will held on 20th May 2012.
