Re: What is the qualification required to write IAS entrance exam?
Indian Administrative Service or the IAS exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on the annual basis in India. The exam is conducted throughout the country. There are examination centers in all major and small cities to conduct this entrance exam.
The Civil Service Examination has two stages of written exam. First one is called Preliminary exam in which candidate has to give 2 written tests. The objection here is to pass this exam and appear for the second stage. Preliminary exam marks are not included in the final score. Once the preliminary is over, Union Public Service Commission will publish a list of candidates who have made it into the second stage. The second stage of written tests is called Main Examination. You will have to perform well here since marks in the main examination would be your final score. There will be 9 written tests starting from Languages, English, Essay, General Studies and optional subjects. Please remember that you can either give Civil Service Examination is Hindi or English. Regional languages are not supported for this entrance exam. The Main Examination is followed by a interview. Eligibility Criteria 1. IAS is strictly limited to Indian citizens. 2. Anyone with a valid graduation degree can apply. 3. There is no percentage criteria. 4. Age limit on lower and high side is 21 to 30 years. 5. Relaxation is given out as govt rules. OBC gets 3 years relaxation. 6. SC/ST gets 5 years relaxation. Attempts 1. General - 4 2. OBC - 7 3. SC/ST - no limit |
