I am intrested in joining Merchant Navy as i had done course in a navy field in pune. So can u please tell me what should i do for joining Merchant Navy after 12th as I am in 10th now, also please give me all the information for physical, education etc.

CRITERIA FOR MERCHANT NAVY AFTER 10+2:-

EDUCATINAL
1)10+2 with equal or more than 60% marks in PCM aggregate

2)40% or more but less than 50% marks at 10th or 12th Std in english

AGE
Equal or more than 17.5 but less than 25

Since you are in 10th standard you need to select the appropriate subjects in 12th standard i.e. you need to have selected Physics, Chemistry and Maths. You need to make sure that you have above 55% in these areas. After that you need to appear for the entrance exams like IIT, OPENMAT etc. You will need to be physically fit as there will be physical check up which will include even eyesight. Infact you will need to clear this test each time you are due for the next promotion.

I M STUDENT OF 12 TH SCI. IN AHMEDABAD. WHICH QUALIFICATON NEED TO JOIN MERCHANT NAVY? IS IIT,JEE,AIEEE AND ANY ENTRANCE EXAM NEED FOR IT?

Of course you can join Merchant Navy after 12th .But for that you have to fulfill the eligibility criteria first .To join Merchant Navy you have to complete 12th in science (PCM) with minimum 60% marks in 10th and onwards .your age should be in between 19 years to 23 years .After 12th you can apply for Deck cadet .Some colleges conducts entrance test and a Interview session and some colleges offers direct admission .
Physical criteria -
To join Merchant Navy candidate should have eye sight 6/6 that means normal vision .Your hight should not be less than 167cms .Your chest should be minimum 77cmc in normal condition and 82cms in expansion .

Age Limits :- Unmarried Male and Female and age should not be More than 20 years but for SC/ST it has been relaxed to 5 Years.

Academic Qualifications :-
10+2 Class or Equivalent with Chemistry , Maths and Physics as Subjects.

Equivalent Examination includes CBSE , ICSE , State Boards

As you have Completed 12 and if your Subjects were PCM then you are Eligible for joining Merchant Navy as a Deck Cadets.

Selection is based on JEE Examination conducted by IIT a merit list is prepared after the written test and interview are completed and the Director General of Shipping has the authority to chose which of the 2 training programmes the candidate is best suited for (students can let their preference be known) Both the T.S. Chanakya and MERI institutions do help (under no Government obligations) in recruiting their graduates in suitable Indian Shipping Companies.

Eligibility to join Merchant Navy after 12th

• Intermediate or Equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and maths cumpulsory from any recognized board or university
• Age - 17.5 to 25 years

Selection of candidates are based on merit list conducted by IIT-JEE .The candidates are selected after qualifying in written and interview.

You have to apply for JEE(Joint Entrance Exam) the exam is conducted by UPSC(union public service commission).

* Candidates should complete 12th standard from a recognized institute
* Candidates should study physics,maths and chemistry at 12th
* Candidates should get 60% at 12th.
* Candidates should have the age limit within 19 to 23 years of age.
* Unmarried male candidates only can appear for this exam.
* You should be physically fit.

Then can I joint in merchant navy.

when i m 10 years old an accident happen with me i have a small problem in one leg .i can apply for merchant navy . where i go to for check up in kanpur. i m very intrested to do this job
