Re: What to study to become a District Magistrate?
It is important to understand that an IAS officer becomes eligible to become a DM after 6 years of service including 2 years of training. They can remain DM till they get their Super Time Scale and promoted to the next higher level of Commissioner i.e. in around15-16 years.
For becoming a District Magistrate, you have to write IAS exam and secure a rank within 100. Once you clear UPSC civil service exam with a top rank, you will become an officer of Indian Administrative services (IAS). IAS officer after one or two promotions become DM of a district. |
