IES :- Indian Engineering Service examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year.To apply for this examination,the candidate need to complete their graduate degree in engineering from a recognized University,Final year of degree course may also eligible to apply for IES examination.

Engineering degree in :-

-Civil Engineering
-Mechanical Engineering
-Electrical Engineering
-Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

or equivalent degree from a recognized Universities.

M.Sc degree candidates are also eligible to apply for Engineering examination but the master degree in Electronics,Wirless Communication,Radio Physics or Radio Engineering may also eligible to apply for this examination.

Candidates who are appearing in the final year of degree course can also eligible to apply but pre-final year of degree course are not eligible to apply for IES examination.There is no minimum marks required for IES examination.

The candidate age should be between 21 years and 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination and relaxation is given to the various reserved categories.

-Last date for receipt of application :- 26-03-12
-Date of examination :- 15-06-12

Dear Friend,
The IES examination is conducted by the UPSC every year. The eligibility criteria for the examination is as under :-
The candidate should has passed Engineering degree from a recognized institute in the following subjects :
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

or equivalent degree from a recognized institute.

M.Sc degree candidates who has done M.Sc in Electronics,Wirless Communication,Radio Physics or Radio Engineering are also eligible to apply for the IES examination.

The candidates who are in the last year of their degree are also eligible to apply for the examination.

The age limit criteria for the examination is that the candidate's age should has between 21 years to 30 years.

There is no requirement of any percentage of marks for IES(Indian Engineering Service) exam conducted by UPSC every year for recruitment in various Technical post in Govt. of India.

The eligible candidate must be a B.Tech degree holder in CIVIL/ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL/ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION Engineering form a recognized University within the age of 21 to 30 years of age. The final appearing B>Tech. candidate can also be eligible to apply for IES.

Hi


As you may know that IES - Indian Engineering Services in an All India Entrance Examination which is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year to recruit fresh engineers from the market for the various posts in the Indian Engg. Services.


-> To apply for this exam, a candidate must be a minimum graduate in B.E/B.Tech in any of the following streams :


  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Electronics and Communication
  • Civil

or equivalent degrees.



-> The final year appearing students may also apply for this, but the pre final year students are not eligible to apply.


-> As such no specific percentage criteria is being put up by the UPSC. Even though I would suggest you to maintain a minimum 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA in your graduation.


-> Your age should be within 21-30 years in the August month in the year when you are applying for the IES.


-> Special relaxation in the upper age limit is given for 3-5 years for the SC/ST/OBC candidates.


-> A GEN candidate is allowed only 4 attempts, OBC 7 and SC/ST are allowed Unlimited number of attempts.

No there is no criteria of percentage or marks required in the examination .Any students who have completed their engineering in the notified streams or the candidates who have completed their MSC in the notified subjects can apply for the exam.

IES i.e Indian Engineering Services is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to the IES post .

Eligibility Criteria

You must have got Degree in any one of the following :

Electrical Engineering
Electronics & Communications Engineering
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering

M.Sc. degree or equivalent with any one of these as special subjects ::

Wireless Communication
Electronics
Radio Physics
Radio Engineering

Final year students are also eligible.

Should be between 21 to 30 years .relaxation is given as per government rule

Pattern of the examination



The syllabus for IES and GATE is similar.

Date of notification :25.02.2012
Last date of filling application form :26.03.2012
Date of examination:15.06.2012
