Educational qualification needed for CDS exam?

CDS i.e CDS Examination is conducted by UPSC twice in a year. The examination will be conducted in the month of February and September.

Military Academy: The candidate should have completed degree course in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

Air Force Academy: The candidate should have completed degree course with mathematics from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

Naval Academy: The candidate should have completed B.Sc degree with Physics or Mathematics or B.E from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

Officer Training Academy: The candidate should have completed degree course in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

Age limits:

IMA: 19-24 years.
Naval Academy: 19-22 years.
Air Force Academy: 19-23 years.
Officer Training Academy: 19-25 years.

CDS stands for Combined Defense Service. The CDS examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year for candidates who are interested to join in Indian Air Force/Navy/Army. Educational qualification required to appear in CDS examination is mentioned below :-

--> For Indian Military Academy (IMA) :- You must have completed Graduation degree or equivalent from a recognised university.
--> For Indian Naval Academy :- You must have completed Graduation degree in Engineering from a recognised university.
--> Indian Air Force Academy :- You must have completed Graduation degree from a recognised university with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

Educational Qualification Required for CDS Exam:

CDS (Combined Defense Services) Examination is basically conducted by Union Public Service Commission. There are several cadre available in Combined Defense Services namely, Air Force Academy, Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Officer's Training Academy. The educational qualification required generally varies from academy to academy and the details are given below.

>> Indian Naval Academy: Bachelor of Engineering degree is needed from a recognized university.

>> Air Force Academy: Candidates must have completed Degree from a recognized university and have completed 12th Class with Physics and Mathematics subjects. (Or) Candidates from Engineering Background are also eligible.

>> Officer's Training Academy & Indian Military Academy: Graduate Degree (Or) Bachelor Degree from a recognized university.

The educational qualification and age criteria for CDS exam is given below-

To enter the Indian Military Academy you need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and your age should be in between 19 to 23 years.

To enter the Air Force Academy you need to get a B.Sc degree with physics or mathematics or a bachelor's degree in engineering/technology and your age should be in between 19 to 23 years.

To enter the Naval Academy you need to have a B.E./B.Tech degree in engineering or technology or a bachelor's degree in science with physics or mathematics and your age should be in between 19 to 22 years.

To enter the Officer's Training Academy you need to complete your graduation in any discipline from a recognized university and your age should be in between 19 to 25 years.

CDS stands for the Combined Defence Services and it is the examination conducted by the UPSC twice every year for the recruitment of the aspirants as an officer in the various wings of the defence services.

The qualification required to appear for the CDS examination is :-
* Candidates must have passed the graduation from the recognised university.
* Candidates must be physically and mentally fit.
* Both male and female candidates are eligible.


But there are some limitations on the age and discipline of the 10+2 to qualify for the different wings.
* Army -- 19-24 years and 10+2 in any discipline.
* OTA --- 19-24 years and 10+2 in any discipline.
* Navy----19-22 years and 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics.
* Air Force --- 19-23 years and 10+2 in Physics and Mathematics.

The examination is conducted in the two stages and the candidate need to qualify in both the stages for the final selection. Candidates after qualifying in the first stages are eligible to appear for the next stage. The CDS II for the 2015 will be conducted in the November 2015.

The educational qualification for the Combined Defense Services exam is bachelor's degree in any stream from an UGC recognized university. Final year candidates of graduation are also eligible for the exam.

For Airforce academy, it is 19-23 years and for OTA it is 19-25 years. Female and male candidates can apply for the exam but marital status should be unmarried.

First of all to tell about the CDS Exam, it is one of the defence service exam conducted by UPSC and is held every year. This exam is conducted for the posts of Indian Army, Navy,Air Force and Officer Traininig academy and there are certain eligibility conditions which you need to satisfy in order to apply for these exams.

Having asked the information regarding the educational qualification, the needed educational qualification for the respected forces are:

# Candidate should have completed a degree in any stream of education for joining in Indian Army and Officer Training academy.

# For joining in Indian Navy, candidate need to have completed a degree in Engineering from a recognized university.

# In the case of joining in Indian Air force, candidate need to have completed a degree in Physics and mathematics as subjects.

If you satisfy them all then you just need to verify whether you satisfy the Nationality, age limit and physical standards.

You need graduation in any discipline for CDS exam. Please not that this exam is conducted for various academies in Army, Air Force and Navy.
