To become a pilot is a great decision of yours to opt to join in defence force of India to serve the country. To join in these forces you need to apply for the respected entrance exam as it is the procedure for joining.

There is no specific percentage which is needed to be got in your respected +2 in order to apply for entrance exam to join in as a Pilot.The only thing is that you should have completed +2 in first class.

The entrance exam which you can possibly apply for joining in as Pilot is NDA exam. This exam offers you opportunity to join in Air Force and there are eligibility criteria's which are needed to be satisfied in order to apply for these exams and they include:

# Educational qualification needed for the exam is, candidate should have completed +2 with physics and mathematics as subjects.

# Candidate should be physically fit.

If you satisfy them all then you can apply for the NDA exam. Candidate can apply for the exam in 2 modes:

You can become pilot after completing 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized board. First, the candidate need to possess a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) which acts as a qualification that allows you to be Pilot in command.

The CPL is published by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). However, these requirements are different for each country.

ELIGIBILITY :

* The education qualification is 10+2 or equivalent with 55% marks in Physics and Maths individually for General category candidates and 50% for Reserved category candidates.

* All the candidate should pass English in 10+2 as one of their subjects.

* Age limit of the candidate should not be less than 17 years.

SELECTION PROCEDURE :

* Written examination.

* Pilot Aptitude test.

* Interview.

To get very high job profiles, the candidate can go for Aeronautical branch in their B.Tech from any recognized university or institution.

The best way to become pilot at the 10+2 level is by cracking the National Defense Service entrance exam conducted by the UPSC every year.

Any candidate who has passed 10+2 from a recognized board can appear for this exam. For Air force, you must have done 10+2 in science stream with Mathematics, Physics. The age limit is 16.5-19.5 years. You should be unmarried male Indian.

You need to crack the written test and Service Selection board so as to join any wings of defense. There is no such percentage criteria, however minimum 60% in 10+2 board exam to enroll for aviation courses if you donot want to join defense.
