I have completed B.Sc with chemistry with 93% and currently i am doing my masters degree but i am interested to join merchant navy. I am 23 years old. I want to confirm if it is possible to join Merchant navy at this age?

As you have completed your degree course, you can appear in Indian Navy SSC Officers exam:

Age limit should be in between 19-24 years.
Male height : 157cm minimum
Female height: 152 cm

Graduate candidates with at least 60% marks are eligible.

eye sight: 6/24 with correctable to 6/6 with glasses.

As per age criteria, you are not eligible for Merchant Navy exam.

Those candidates who have passed your 12th or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from central/state board or recognized school are eligible for Merchant navy exam.

Your age should be below 20 years.

Being a B.Sc graduate you are definitely eligible to join merchant navy at the age of 23 years. To join merchant navy you must have to appear in the All India Merchant Navy Entrance Test. So my suggestion to you is that you should prepare yourself for this test and try to score a considerably good rank in this test. If you want to join Merchant Navy, then it is only possible if you are OBC canidiate or if you are under Sc/St categories.

Age limit criteria is given below:

For general categories maximum age limit - 20.
For OBC candidate maximum age limit - 23.
For Sc/St categories maximum age limit - 25.
