Hello, I am Mohit Bhardwaj student of class 11th. I want to be an IAS officer after B.Sc. I am from PCM.My question is that in mains, is only one paper held on that subject we choose or any other subject paper?

Here is mains examination pattern of Civil Services examination:

Paper I: Compulsory Language paper.

Paper II: Compulsory Language paper.

Paper III: Essay.

Paper IV: General Studies Paper I: It consists of questions from History and Geography.

Paper V: General Studies Paper II: Questions from India Polity, Social Justice, International relations, Constitution.

Paper VI: General Studies Paper III: Questions from Economic development, Science and Technology, Biodiversity.

Paper VII: General Studies Paper IV: Questions from Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude.

You need to choose any optional subject and there will be two papers of same subject.
