I am a section engineer in Indian railways. My DOB is 22-10-1980 and my date of appointment in railways is from 16-08-2013 i.e my present age is 36 years 8 months. Will I get age limit benefits at this age?

Yes, there are age relaxations applicable on the eligible candidates. For general candidates the age limit is 18 to 30 years, for OBC candidates the age is relaxed by 3 years, for SC/ST candidates it is relaxed by 5 years and for PWD candidates it is relaxed by 10 years.

If you are a female candidate, then you can apply for staff nurse position for which the age limit is 20 to 40 years and also you can apply for teacher's position 1 to 4 for which the age should be less than 45 years.

Age relaxation is available based on your category. If you belong to any of the reserved category, then you will definitely get age relaxation according to the specified rules.

Hence, just check the notification of the job and apply accordingly. Selection is based on merit through written exam and interview.
