Re: Which course to take for Graduation to become IAS in future?
Hello friend,
I have the solution for your problem it is. 1.IAS is the course related to civil services. 2.Actually there is no course in graduation that is related to IAS services. 3.So all the courses of graduation are eligible for IAS. 4.So now it's up to you. 5.Based on your interest choose any one of the group you like. 6.Try to attain 60% of marks in your graduation course so that you will be eligible for IAS course. Hope this information is helpful to you................ Have a nice day.............. |

Re: Which course to take for Graduation to become IAS in future?
Eligibility criteria to apply for UPSC IAS examination 2015 :
A candidate must have passed graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any other equivalent qualification. Age of the candidate must not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and upper age relaxation is as per government guidelines which is 03 years for OBCs and 05 years for SC/STs. As you have read that any degree holding candidates are eligible therefore you can choose any bachelor's degree program such as BA/ B.Sc/ B.Com/ BE./ B.Tech/ BBA etc. and apply for this examination. If you want to pursue graduation course with the purpose of preparation for IAS examination then I would like to guide you to choose BA course rather than any other course. Reason for choosing BA course is that you can choose three subjects as per your wish and you should choose those subjects which are asked in IAS examination and you could take two subjects in mains exam so the basic knowledge of those subjects from graduation will be helpful and you should go for BA in any three of these subjects : Political Science/ Public Administration/ History/ Geography/ Sociology/ Economics/ Literature subjects such as Hindi or English. Questions are asked from every part of these subjects mentioned so any three subjects will be helpful in your preparation and you will feel that you do not need to prepare separately for any subject and your preparation for degree exams will be used in preparation for IAS examination so think that how much time you would save for your preparation. The other advantage in this course is that no practical or CCE or monthly tests are required therefore you can freely prepare for IAS examination and have enough time to get prepared well for this exam. |

Re: Which course to take for Graduation to become IAS in future?
IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and there is no particular subject in graduation which has syllabus to seat for Civil Service examination.
The examination is conducted by UPSC and there is no seprate examination is there for IAS.The examination is very tough to crack without having better knowledge, determination and self confidence. You can do your graduation from any subject in which you thinks that you have more interest this will help you and you can also take it as main paper in your civil services examination. But large number of students after completing or from graduation they take Political science,History,English,Geography as the main paper because there is large number of question from General Studies. |

Re: Which course to take for Graduation to become IAS in future?
IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service .The IAS examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission once every year .
You do not have to worry much about your stream in graduation because for the same examination you just have to complete your bachelor degree from any stream of your choice from a recognized university .Final year student are also eligible for the same . Also your age must be within 21 years to 30 years if you are a general candidate otherwise there is provision for age relaxation as per government rule . Also you have to be a citizen of India . So friend you first look to complete your graduation with a stream in which you are interested an then go for your goal . |

Re: Which course to take for Graduation to become IAS in future?
Hello aspirant,
First thing that i want to tell you that Indian Administrative Service is a civil service. So you simply need to qualify graduation if you want to go for IAS with minimum described percentage. It does not matter in which stream you complete your graduation,so my suggestion to you is that you should opt that stream in which you have interest, because if we for against our interest then our efficiency will reduces. Also your age must not be greater than 30 year. Thank you. |

Re: Which course to take for Graduation to become IAS in future?
It doesnt matter which course you have taken in Graduation to apply for the IAS exam .
After 12th , there are lot of courses which you can take in Graduation . Some are , ~ B.com ~ B.sc in physics ~ B.sc in Maths ~ B.sc in Chemistry ~ B.tech ( eee , ece , cse , mechanical , civil, etc.) ~ BBA ~ BBM , etc... ** The main point you should remember is , which ever course you have taken in your Graduation , that you should complete it from a recognised university . After completion of your Graduation course , you can apply for the IAS exam . If you have taken B.tech , then in your Final year of Engineering you can apply for the IAS exam . |
