To give the bank Probationary Officer exam a candidate must be a graduate in any faculty from a valid university & age must be between 21 years to 30 years. You can prepare, but cannot apply for the exam. There are no optional subjects, but yes, there are compulsory subjects which you have studied. Subjects are Reasoning, English, Computer awareness,Quantitative Aptitude & General Awareness.

There is no compulsory and optional paper requires for bank po exams as You think like as UPCS civil service exams. You have to qualify two exams for recruitment of Bank PO . First preliminary test consists the questions of general English, reasoning, and Arithmetic. After qualifying the preliminary test you have to qualify mains exams which consists the questions of general awareness, reasoning, mathematics, general English.and after it you have to face a interview to get selected. It requires as educational qualification as passed in degree course at least 50% marks. And your age must be between 20 to 30 years old on the the basis of date of application.

There are no compulsory and optional subjects in the Bank PO exams.

However, there is a paper on the Finance (Macro).

You need to prepare well for this exam as it is a descriptive paper.

For the preliminary stage, there is an objective paper which have 4 subjects in it. They are :

* Quantitative Aptitude
* Logical Reasoning
* English
* General and Banking Awareness.

So, you need to prepare well as you need to score as much as you can in the papers. Because both will be counted to form the merit list.
