I am Lokesh. I am a biology and maths student. Is it possible to become airport customs officer by taking biology and maths group or not?

For recruitment as a Custom officer at Airport you have to appear and qualify in Civil Service examination.

The required qualification to appear in examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree ( or final year degree ) from a recognised university.

The age limit is 21-32 years and relaxation in upper limit for reserved category.

So, you are eligible to pursue any stream in 12th or bachelor degree to appear in examination. The examination is conducted in three stages and it is mandatory to qualify in all stages of examination for final recruitment.

Procedure to become an Officer in Airport Customs Department:

There is a certain educational qualification required to become an Officer in Airport Customs Department.

>> The minimum educational qualification required is, candidates must have completed their Bachelor's Degree or Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.

>> You must have secured minimum 55% marks in Graduation in order to be eligible. As Graduation is required, 12th Class with any stream is acceptable as far as my best knowledge is concerned. So you may apply for this recruitment if you have successfully passed Graduation.

>> You are required to appear in CSAT Examination which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). You are required to choose Indian Customs and Central Excise Service as your first option to get into Airport Customs Department.

For becoming a custom officer, you need to crack UPSC civil services exam, for which you need at least a degree in any discipline. Class 12th will not make you eligible for such exams.

Selection will be on the basis of performance in the written exam and interview conducted by UPSC. Just make sure that you are well prepared for it.
