What can a software engineer do after failing to get into IAS?
Assuming a person works in software for few years and then leavess his job to prepare for IAS. If he doesn't succeed after all attempts, what career options does he have then? Will software industry take him back after all these years?

Re: What can a software engineer do after failing to get into IAS?
It will be difficult to get an IT job after a long gap because top companies reject candidates who have a long gap without any proper reason. If you are interested in IAS job then do your preparation along with job.
It will difficult to get back to same field if you don't succeed but not impossible. Hence, if you think you can crack IAS exam then you can leave your job. |

There are multiple options still opened before him/her.
- You can prepare for IAS once again and try next year. - You can get into software industry again with your experience. The software industry is huge and there are lucrative options for talented people every time. - You can go for higher studies. - You can prepare for some other jobs especially in government sector. |

Re: What can a software engineer do after failing to get into IAS?
If the person is a software engineer and if he left jobs and then prepared for IAS and unfortunately he didn't made it, then he must try it for the next time. Again if he fails he must try for the 3rd time , and finally he must try and try until and unless he get in IAS, this is a true quality of IAS aspirants.
If you don't have passion and fire for something you can not achieve anything, so you must keep that fire burning in you. This is what i think and suggests you. |
