Direct 12th without 11th having a year gap after 10th? After 12th from Open school can one apply for IIT?


My son has completed 10th class from a Public School New Delhi CBSE board and got 6.2.. Can he do 12th in yr this without 11th?

After 12th from Open school, can he apply for IIT New Delhi or other Government Engineering colleges?

No, your son cannot directly pursue 12th standard without appearing for 11th standard. To be eligible to appear for the IIT examination, he must have completed 12th or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects from a recognised board. Even the questions in IIT entrance examination will be asked from the 11th standard syllabus. So, he must have to complete 11th standard and then, he can go for 12th standard. After completion of 12th standard, he is eligible to appear for the IIT examination.

i have been failed in 10th. so i have decided to do 10th in open school; if i do that, will i be eligible to do 12th.

No dear, without clearing 11th class how your son can be admitted in 12th class. Because for admission in 12th he need to clear 11th with good marks. i will suggest your son to study from the CBSE board only.

My wife did 10th from state open this year, i.e., in the month of march-april 2015 (Session 2014-15), can she apply for 12th (from state open) for the session 2015-16, i.e., without having a year gap?

I completed my 10th this year 2015 external from Gujarat boare,cani appear directly for 12 external from open school without having a year gap

Can i get the admission in class 11 if i got 9.2 cgpa in 10th and take the science without maths in a government school of Delhi?

After passing class X from open school can my son apply for admission to any school. Is the Open school certificate valid???
