Yes, candidates passed 12th from a regular or private examination are eligible to appear for Civil Services examination and other competitive entrance examination.

The certificate from any recognised board whether regular or private is valid for higher studies.

Other than CLAT examination for all other examination such as Civil Service, PCS required qualification is bachelor degree.

It does not matter whether you are private candidate or regular candidate at 10+2 level in case of Civil Services examination. Yes, both has equal importance in Civil Services examination. The eligibility criteria for Civil Services examination is:

>>Bachelor's degree from any UGC recognized university of India. Candidates pursuing final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for the Civil Services examination. The age limit for Civil Services exam is 21-32 years.

CLAT stands for Common Law Aptitude Test. The qualification for this exam is 10+2 from a recognized board with minimum of 45% marks. In case of CLAT also, both has same importance.
