How many times one can appear for JEE MAIN after clearing 12th?

The maximum number of attempts allowed to appear in JEE Main examination is three times that too in three consecutive years after completion of your 12th standard from a recognised board. For example, if you are going to appear in 12th standard board examinations in 2016 then, you are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2016, JEE Main 2017 and JEE Main 2018 examinations. That means, you can appear in JEE Main examination three times after completion of your 12th standard.

Candidate can appear for JEE Main exams up to three times from the year of passing their 12th class.
Candidate must have passed 12th with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

A maximum of three(3) attempts are allowed per student targeting JEE Mains. However, other eligibility criteria must also be fulfilled.
Not more than three attempts are allowed, so try to give your best shot in the first attempt only.

Number of Attempts allowed for JEE Main Examination:

>> For JEE 2016:
Candidates who have completed their 12th Class in 2014 or 2015 are eligible to apply. And Candidates who are appearing their 12th Class Examinations in 2016 are also eligible to appear in JEE 2016 Exam.

You can appear in JEE Main exam is only twice.

If you have completed 12th standard with above 50% marks from a recognized university are eligible for JEE Main exam.

Your 12th standard subject must be Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Your age should be in between 17 to 25 years.

JEE stands for Joint Entrance examination and it is engineering entrance examination held by CBSE once every year for the selection of deserving applicants for their Bachelor degree course in technical field from top government colleges like IIT, IIIT, ISM or NIT and other top private colleges.

JEE examinations are held in two stages which are :- Stage I ) JEE Main and Stage II ) JEE Advance.

--> The qualifications required for appearing in the JEE Main examination are as here under :-

* You must have a higher secondary school degree from a recognized board of education with Physics, Chemistry and Mathenatics as your main subjects with at least 50% aggregate in each of the mentioned subjects.

* Also for appearing in the same your age must be within 17 years to 25 years till the last date of the same year in which you are appearing in the same.

--> For JEE Advance you can required to clear the JEE Main first together with that much percentage of marks in your board examination which keeps you within the top 20 percentile student of your board. Also if you secure 75% aggregate in your board examination then also you are eligible for the same.

The maximum attempt provided for clearing the same examination is three consecutive attempts.
