Re: What are the advantages and disadvantages of taking admission in open school?
Just alike CBSE and CISCE, the NIOS (national institute of open schooling) is a national board that administers/governs the examinations for Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations of open school. NIOS is the third largest board in India after CBSE and ICSE and have equal weightage to that of CBSE and ICSE boards.
NIOS board comes under the ministry of HRD government of India. Advantage of NIOS: 1) No need to attain regular classes 2) Flexibility in choosing subjects 3) Syllabus is almost same to CBSE 4) Students who have left their education due to some problem/reason, can continue their education. 5) Approved by HRD gov. of India There is no such disadvantage of NIOS, it's depend on the quality of education, faculties, study materials, etc provided by the institute, affiliated by NIOS. Also the results of NIOS are declared in the month of June, so there goes last date for counselling in many colleges. |
