Hello,
My son is insisting me that he will not continue his school and he want to study with NIOS Board. Right now he is in UP Board school. Can you tell me what is the difference between UP Board and NIOS?

UP board is a state while NIOS (National Institute of Open School) is open schooling board.
NIOS comes under Union Government of India while UP board is under taken by the state government of UP.

In UP board a student need to attend the regular classes while in NIOS there is no need to attend the regular classes.
A student in NIOS needs to give exams only no need to attend the classes. NIOS is also highly recognized board of India. Through this board your son have to study by its own.

Both the boards are very much recognized. The only difference is that one is a regular and the other is an Open University. Basically those students prefer NIOS boards who work somewhere or are unable to attend school on regular basis.

However, if there is no such problem in order to attend school, UP board is preferable over NIOS.

UP board is a regular mode of educational board, whereas NIOS is an Open University. Both the Universities are very much recognized and are widely accepted, but however as UP board is a regular mode of educational board, it is preferable over NIOS in most of the cases.

How much important of nios board

UP Board is a state board where you attend the regular class as regular student state board has there own syllabus.
NIOS (National institute of open schooling) is open board where you don't need to attend class regular you just need to give exam once a year. It has there own syllabus.
