Income Tax Department jobs at officer level through exam conducted by SSC.
This Exam is called Combined Graduate level exam.

Eligibilty for this Exam is Graduation pass in any stream

AGE- Minimum 18 years
Maximum 27 years
3 years age relaxations for OBC candidates, 7 years for SC/ST candidates

Tier 1 Exam of the SSC Combined Graduate level will be held on 14th April 2013 and 21st April 2013.
You will get anyone of the dates.

Notification and advertisement will come out on 19th January 2013

So, if you meet the above eligibilty than you should start preparing for this Exams

This exam is held in Three Stages: Tier1, Tier 2 and Interview

You would be tested into the below sections in the written exams:

>> English Comprehension

YES, Females can apply for the income Tax officers jobs.

For this you have to appear in the SSC Combined Graduate level exams.

SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination is conducted for recruiting Income Tax officers.

You can apply for it because you are a B.Com Graduate. So start preparing for the exam as soon as possible.

The age should be between 18 to 27 years if you are a General Category candidate.

There is 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC Category candidates.

10 years age relaxation for Physically handicapped is also available.

Examination Pattern:

-TIER I will be an 200 marks objective type paper

-Those who qualify TIER I will be called for TIER II. TIER II will have two papers according to the post.

-TIER III will either interview or skill test according to the post.

You have to pass with merit then you will be selected for the post according to your preference.

Eligibility criteria:-

The applicant should be complete graduation in any stream from a recognised university of India.

So, a candidate will be eligible from any stream of graduation.

Percentage is not needed to appear this examination.

The applicant should be an Indian origin.

Age criteria and relaxation details:-

The age limits are 18 years to 27 years,

There is a relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates,

There is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates.


Selection process:-

***Tier-I examination,

First you can crack the CGL ( Combined Graduate Level ) Examination which is conducted by SSC

SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission



For this CGL Examination some eligibility criteria are there, if you satisfy these eligibility criteria then you are eligible for This examination

Educational Qualification

Candidates have a bachelor of degree in any stream from any recognized university

There is no percentage required for this examination

Age Limit

Candidates age should between 18 years to 27 years, age relaxation available for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per govt.norms

To apply for Income Tax Officer exam,
The minimum age should be 18 & maximum 27.

You have to apply for the Preliminary exam which may be published in the month of April (approx.) every year in Employment News, Gazette of India etc. & in some of the leading newspapers.

Preliminary exam take's place in the months of May or June which consists of two papers.
Paper A. General Intelligence and General Awareness and
Paper B. Arithmetic .
Once you qualify this exam, you have to appear for the Final Exam.
Final exam consists of two parts.
Part A is written exam & Part B is Personality Test. After qualifying this exam, you have to appear for the interview.

The average pay scale of Income Tax Officer is Rs.6,500-Rs.10,500. These are the fixed as per Government Of India & this may change time to time with new pay commission.
