I have done my twelfth class from art stream.
I want to be an i.p.s so please tell me what qualification needed .

Graduation is the general qualification specified for IPS. The qualification can be obtained in any subjects. 12th class % is not a restriction to attend the exam. You age must be between 21 and 30 years. Upper age relaxation is offered for reserved category candidates.

For being an IPS officer. You should first of all meet the eligibilty criteria for the IPS. You should be a citizen of india and should also be a graduate in any stream from a recognized indian university.
Your age should be in between 21-30 years of age.(gen.)
21-33(obc)
21-35(sc/st)
The number of attempts=
4 for general
7 for obc
No limit for sc st
The process of being an IPS is that you need to give the preliminary exam conducted by the UPSC. Therefater, clearing the pre exam you have to prepare for the mains and then if you clear your mains, you’ll be called for an interview and then you’ll be an IAS. For starting, you should initiate your preparation with the general knowledg, history, geography and indian polity.
There are two papers in the pre exam,
Paper 1- general studies (history, georgraphy, economics, current affairs, science(upto X)
Paper 2-CSAT( quantitave aptitude and verbal skills(ENGLISH))

If you want to become an IPS stands for INDIAN POLICY SERVICES.
For that you should be Graduation pass in any Stream it does not matter how much you score in your academic carrier,but for that you have to apply for civil services exam conducted by UPSC to recruit eligible candidate in services like IPS,IAS etc

Civil Services Exam Will be held in Three Round .
1. Preliminary Exam
2. Main Examination
3. Interview Test
1. Preliminary Exam - This is an objective type questions based test which if the candidate passes, qualifies tothe second phase.
2. Main Exam - This is a subjective type questions based test which if the candidate passes, passes to the third phase

You will have to complete graduation to apply for Civil Service Examination. Now the choice is upto you to decide the graduation course. There is no such limit set by the Union Public Service Commission.

The criteria only is that candidate should have graduation degree. Since you have completed 12th standard in Arts, the logical choice would be Bachelor of Arts course. However you are free to choose any other course.

Apart from educational criteria, candidates who are applying for Indian Police Service are also required to meet some physical criteria.


IPS Eligibility

1. Candidate should be Indian citizen.

2. Must have graduation degree in any stream.

3. There is no percentage criteria.

4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years as on August 1 of examination year.

5. upto 3 years relaxation for OBC.

6. There is 5 years relaxation for SC and ST.

Male - 165 cm for General, OBC and SC and 160 cm (ST)

Female - 150 cm (SC/OBC/General) and 145 cm (ST)


Chest

Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm

Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm

6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye

6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye

After passing 12th with any stream you are not eligible for I.P.S.
If you want to become I.P.S officer you have to pass graduation with any stream.

After passing graduation with any stream you have to qualify the Civil Services exam.

Civil Services exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Age limit for I.A.S :-
For Open category:- 21-30 year
For OBC category:- 21-33 YEAR
For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year

Number of Attempts:-
For open category:- 4 attempts
For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts

In I.A.S exam there are three stage Of selection:-
> PRELIMS EXAM
> MAINS EXAM
> INTERVIEW
