Re: Should I appear in TOEFL instead of GRE to study M.Tech in Abroad?
To study M.Tech course in Abroad, it is mandatory that you need to appear in TOEFL/ IELTS examination. TOEFL is a standardised test which helps you to prove your English Language Proficiency skills in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking sections. If you wish to pursue M.Tech course in foreign countries like US, most of the universities asks GRE score. So, if you apply for such type of universities, you need to appear in GRE examination also. But, in most of the foreign universities, TOEFL score is accepted for providing admission in M.Tech course.

Re: Should I appear in TOEFL instead of GRE to study M.Tech in Abroad?
Yes, you need to appear in GRE as well as TOEFL. TOEFL is mandatory since one has to prove his/her English proficiency if one does not belong to the English Speaking countries. So you can either take TOEFL or IELTS. GRE is a tough exam since the questions are of good standard and the competition is very high. This is because there are applicants across the globe for GRE and as a result, the cutoff of GRE for the foreign institutes especially the top institutes goes high. Hence if you want to get admission in foreign universities especially the top ones in the world, then you need to score good marks in GRE and TOEFL.

Re: Should I appear in TOEFL instead of GRE to study M.Tech in Abroad?
TOEFL exam is not an alternative exam of GRE. GRE exam is used to assess the ability of a candidate in Analytical, Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning sections, whereas TOEFL is an exam, which is used to assess the ability of a candidate in Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking sections of English. So, they are different exams and you need to appear for both of them, because most of the universities offers admission by considering GRE and TOEFL or IELTS score of the candidates.
Moreover, GRE is not a tough exam, if you are good at English and Mathematics. The mathematical questions in GRE exam is very similar to the concepts, which we have learned from 7th to 10th standard and English questions are based on General English. GRE Exam Pattern:- The GRE exam is conducted in three sections Section I:- 1) Verbal Reasoning i) Reading Comprehension ii) Text Completion iii) Sentence Equivalence Section II:- 1) Quantitative Reasoning Section III:- 1) Analytical Writing Assessment i) Issue-Task essay ii )Argument-Task essays |
