Gitam University Online Entrance Test (GAT UGT) 2012

This test is carried out by GITAM University for the admission to its undergraduate courses in Vishakapatnam and Hyderabad. Courses include B.Arch and B.Tech, out of which B.Arch is integrated course with B.Tech and M.Tech having duration of five years.

Structure of GAT UGT

This test comprises of three sections. Number of questions for each part is given below.

  • Mathematics/Biology- 40 questions
  • Physics- 30 questions
  • Chemistry- 30 questions

The test is objective in nature with four marks for the right answer and one mark is deducted for wrong answer. Candidates are provided with four choices. Candidates failing to attempt any question will obtain zero mark for that question.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have qualified plus two under any approved Central or State Board or equivalent institution are eligible.

Qualification for each programme is given below.

B.Tech and B.Arch: 1st class or grade equivalent to it is needed for qualifying examination .That exam should be qualified in first attempt itself. At least 60% is needed in PCM.

B.Tech in Biotechnology: 1st class or grade equivalent to it is needed for qualifying examination .That exam should be qualified in first attempt itself. At least 60% is needed in PCM or Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

How to Apply?

Candidates can apply through the website www.gitam.edu. It can also be got from the selected branches of Union Bank of India and Indian Bank. Branches of these banks where forms are available will be specified on the website. A DD needs to be send along with the filled in application. Male candidates should take DD of Rs.1000/-, while female candidates should take DD of Rs.600/-.DD drawn in the name of GITAM UNIVERSITY, should be a payable one at Vishakapatnam. It may be payable at any scheduled bank. The address to which the application is to be forwarded is specified below.

How to fill the Form?

Applicants applying online should go through all the instructions given in the website. While specifying name make sure it is in capital letter. Forms should be send after all the necessary details are filled. Otherwise the form will get rejected.

Study Plan

Collect maximum textbooks and study materials. Try to solve many MCQs in a day. This will help to adjust time for attending the test. Basics should be well studied. Schedule time slot for each topic based on the significance of topics. Try to attend mock tests. Give time for frequent break from studying.

Results are accessible from GITAM University website. Website is http://www.gitam.edu/. Candidates can make sure whether they will get admission or not by looking into these results.

Score Validity

GITAM online entrance test will provide a score for the candidate who qualifies the test. Valid period for this score is twelve months. Score with validity period more than this are not considered for admission.
