West Bengal State University is just two years old and the university was established in the year 2008. The university began to offer courses from the academic year 2008-09 and it is offering education through the departments of physiology, political science, chemistry, statistics, English, anthropology, commerce & management, Hindi, microbiology, history, electronics, physiology, computer science, mathematics, education, zoology and botany. At present, 57 colleges are affiliated to the university and courses are offered through these colleges as well.
