Paper pattern

The paper is divided into five main questions which are further divided into sub-questions. The weight age of each question is different. The marks that are allotted for each question are in accordance with the length of the question as well as its importance. The candidate is given a choice in each question and he can choose one from the two questions that he feels comfortable answering. There are no compulsory questions. Each type of questions has two to three options.

Distribution of marks

Maximum marks that are allotted are 80. Each question carries different marks and it depends on the answer. The first question is easy writing in Hindi. The next question is writing of summary of a short story in your own words. The other questions are letter writing, comprehension of a passage and other grammatical exercises. The letters are both formal as well as informal. The summary of short stories makes the candidate understand them thoroughly.

Duration of the paper

The maximum time allotted for this paper is 3 hours. These three hours are for writing the answers. An extra 15 minutes are allotted for reading the question paper thoroughly. If the candidate has any doubts or queries, he is expected to clear them in this time. This time should be utilized in clearing doubts and the candidate is asked to use this time wisely.

About the subject

The subject of Hindi is very vast. This subject covers every grammatical exercise so that the candidate becomes familiar with the backbone of the subject. The next is letter writing which arms the candidate for future use. The Hindi literature is all about short stories, Hindi novels and famous writers who have given the subject its rich literature. Essay writing requires a lot of practice so that unseen topics can be answered easily. It is advisable to refer to the pr3evious papers to get an idea of the questions.
