Government Law College, Mumbai offers LLB courses having duration of 3 and 5 years. Graduation is the basic qualification needed for admission to 3 year LLB course where as HSC passed candidates can look for admission to 5 year integrated course. Admission will be offered purely on the basis of merit. Students can pursue the course by paying Rs. 6890/- as annual fees.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission process for L.L.B in Government Law College, Mumbai

Bachelor degree holders in any stream are eligible to apply for LLB Admission. Candidates having completed the course either from Mumbai University or any other equivalent University can have admission to the course in Government Law College, Mumbai. The degree must be completed with minimum 45% marks. Candidates belonging to reserved category can have 5% relaxation in the percentage of marks. Admissions will be done on the basis of candidate’s academic performance.

Candidates who have passed HSC examination carried out by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education can have admission to 5 year LLB course. Those having qualified any other equivalent exam, recognized as equivalent by the University of Mumbai can also apply. Minimum percentage of marks required in this case is also 45%. Admissions are offered on the basis of merit.

Fee Structure for L.L.B (3 year) program

  • Tuition fees: Rs.  1500/-
  • Library Fees: Rs. 450/-
  • Gymkhana: Rs. 200/-
  • Others: Rs. 250/-
  • Extra-Curricular: Rs. 250/-
  • Admin Fees:  Rs.100/-
  • Magazine Fees: Rs. 100/-
  • Identity Card: Rs. 60/-
  • Group Insurance: Rs.40/-
  • Student Welfare Fund: Rs. 50/-
  • Utility Fee: Rs. 300/-
  • Development Fee: Rs. 500/-
  • Mark list: Rs.50/-
  • Exam Fee: Rs. 600/-
  • Moot Court Rs. 500/-
  • Court Visit: Rs. 500/-
  • Disaster fund: Rs. 50/-
  • Sports and Cultural fund: Rs. 20/-
  • Total Fee per year: Rs. 5520/-

For 5 year LLB course, fee structure remains same for the first three years. Tuition fee of 5 year LLB course in third year is Rs. 2000/- and in fourth year is Rs. 2500/-. Tuition fee for foreign students and Indian students are also different. It is 5 times as stipulated for Indian students.

Apart from the fee mentioned above, candidate must pay some additional fee at the time of admission.

  • Caution Money: Rs. 250/-
  • Library Deposit: Rs.300/-
  • Admission Procedure: Rs: 600/-
  • Enrolment Fees: Rs.220/-
  • Total Fee: Rs. 1370/- (at the time of admission)

So at the time of admission each candidate must pay a total fee of Rs. 6890/-. Fee mentioned here may change according to the norms of University.

    There is a long gap in my studies. I have passed SSC with 70% in 1995, I have not done HSC and now I am pursuing graduation from YCMOU.

    I have done Diploma in Pharmacy after 10th. I have secured 84% in 10th in the year 1993, and in Pharmacy secured 59% in the year 1995.
