B.Tech Electronics and Communication Lateral Entry Admissions in Kerala University
The Lateral Entry scheme is aimed to take in diploma holders with good marks into the Second year of the B.Tech course. This is practiced so that the students can acquire an Engineering degree in three years time. Aspirants need to appear for a state level entrance exam that is approved by the AICTE. The admission will be done on the basis of the norms of the Kerala University.
Eligibility for B.Tech Electronics and Communication Lateral Entry in Kerala University
Candidates who have got more than 60 percent marks in the Engineering Diploma can apply for the lateral entry. The certification must be given by the State Board of Technical Education. A relaxation of 5 percent is given to SEBC candidates. For the candidates belonging to the reserved categories, a pass in the finals will suffice. Those who are going to sit in the final can apply for this scheme too. But they must provide their eligibility certificate at the time of counseling. The maximum age of the students at the time of applying must be 28 years. Candidates who are Non – Keralites can also apply. But their admittance will be restricted to Self-financing organizations.
Reservation for Lateral Entry in Kerala University
Out of the total seats, 15% seats under the Lateral entry system will be reserved under the Management (Private Colleges). 50% seats under this scheme will be filled by the DTE and 50% by management in the case of institutions that are self financed. The communal reservation for candidates who belong to the reserved categories shall be practiced as per the usual rules (Ezhava-9%, Scheduled Caste-8%, Scheduled Tribe-2%, Backward Hindu-5%, Backward Christian-1%, Latin Catholic -2% and Muslim-8%). 3% seats will be reserved for students who are physically disabled. These candidates must have a minimum of 40% disability and they must submit a disability certificate from a Medical Officer. One seat is reserved for the defense quota.
Applying for B.Tech Electronics and Communication Lateral Entry in Kerala University
The application form can be procured from the Distribution Centres. The price of the form is Rs, 500/- for open category and Rs. 250/- for candidates of the reserved categories. The fee can be paid by DD issued at a Nationalized Bank in the name of Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology. It should be payable at Trivandrum. The exam will have a time period of 2 hours. The question will include topics on selected subjects of the B.Tech first year course. Questions on English language will also be included. As to get included in the rank list, the candidates must get a minimum of 20 percent marks. The rank list shall be announced by the LBS Centre.
The examination centres will be at Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Eranakulam.

The biggest advantage the students get when they enter by way of the lateral entry scheme is that they don’t have to take the first year again. As they would have studied the fundamentals of the course, it would be easier for them when they take the lessons of attend the practical’s. Apart from this, they are also saving a year since they are joining the second year directly. By way of the lateral entry scheme, the students not only acquire job-ready at least amount of expenditure, but also have the advantage of using the options to study B.E. in engineering colleges.

how i get entrence exam quetrions
i have wrote the letentrance in kerala,how much mark required to enter the ranklist,i have get only 21 write answers,can i enter into the ranklist?
