Management is one subject from the long list of subjects which students can take up as the optional subject in India’s toughest examination- the Civil Services Examination. There are two rounds of the written test before the personality test. The first round is Preliminary examination, clearing which makes a student eligible to sit for the main examination. The total marks of the test are 300 and the time allowed is three hours.

Sections in the paper:

The Civil Services Management (Paper II) has been divided into two sections consisting of 8 questions in all.

How the paper looks like

There are two sections in the Management Paper II of Civil Services Examination. Each of the sections has four questions. All the questions are of equal marks, each carrying 60 marks. Students have to answer five questions from the paper. Question 1 and question 5 are compulsory. The remaining three questions are left to the students’ choice, but at least one question is to be taken from each of the sections. There are sub questions within the questions. The questions are all subjective type and the paper is a lengthy one. So besides the enormous preparation, time management plays an important role in clearing the examination.
