West Bengal University of Technology popularly known as WBUT is one of the major universities of India. With the aim of spreading the knowledge in various backgrounds of engineering and management it was established in the year 2000. Being a technical institute it provides a variety of degree courses. Electronics and Communication Engineering is one of the most important degree courses offered by this Institute. Microelectronics & Opto-electronic devices, an important subject requires a lot of effort to understand. Only diligent students can fetch good marks in the examination. The paper pattern helps students to get an idea of the paper and perform well in the examination.

Number of sections in the paper:

As per the pattern there are three sections in the paper, Group A, B and C.

Pattern of the paper

This paper contains a total of three groups. Group A deals with questions having multiple answers. What we need to do is select the correct option. This group is of 10 marks. Next group i.e. Group B is the group of the short questions. This contains 5 to 7 question out of which we need to attempt 3 questions of 5 marks each. Remaining group i.e. Group C also have 5 -7 questions out of which 3 are to be done. Each question contains 15 marks each. In total 10 MCQ, 3 short questions, and 3 long questions are there.

Marks distribution:

As told earlier there are three group in the paper. Group A is of 10 marks. Group B contains 3 question of 5 marks each while third group is of 45 marks, 3 questions of 15 marks each. Questions in this group also have sub-parts. In total the paper contains a total of 70 marks.

Time duration:

The total time allotted for the paper is 3 hours.
