Damodar Valley Corporation is shortly called as DVC and this company holds the pride of being the first multipurpose river valley project of independent India. The corporation came into existence in the year 1948 on the 7th of July through an Act of the Constituent Assembly of India.

The project earned early success due to the interest shown by Sri Kriahna Sinha, the then chief minister of Bihar, Dr. B.C. Roy, the then Chief Minister of West Bengal and Sri. Jawaharlal Nehru, the Prime Minister of India during that period.

Recruitment by DVC:

DVC has invited applications from eligible candidates for the position of Graduate Engineer Trainee and some of the details regarding this recruitment notification are given below:

Name of the Position: Graduate Engineer Trainee

Number of Vacancies: 252, which includes 67 posts for Electrical Engineers, 134 for mechanical, 21 for civil and 30 for control and instrumentation.

Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 plus a grade pay of Rs.5640

Eligibility Requirement:

Education: For applying to the position of Graduate Engineer Trainee, candidates must be B.E/B. Tech degree holders in any of the following disciplines of Engineering:

• Control & Instrumentation Engineering

• Civil Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Electronics & Communication Engineering

Age Requirement: Age requirement for the position of Graduate Engineer Trainee is 29 years.

Selection Procedure:

Candidates will be selected for the position of Graduate Engineering Trainee based on their performance in the written test, which is planned to be held of 10th of July 2011.
