Chandigarh Administration refers to the Government of Chandigarh and it created the department of Medical Education & Research mainly for the purpose of starting of Medical College in the city. The college was offered with provisional affiliation from the Punjab University for the MBBS course during the year 1991 and at present the college is offering MD/MS courses in different branches of medicine in addition to the MBBS course.

Chandigarh Administration is looking to recruit candidates for the position of Senior Resident in different branches of medicine to fill up the vacancy at the Government Medical College and Hospital.

Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 (with starting pay of Rs.18750) + Grade Pay of Rs.6600. Also allowances are admissible as per orders issued by Government of Chandigarh from time to time.

Eligibility requirement:

Educational Qualification: For the position of Senior Resident, candidates must be DNB/M. Ch/D.M/M.D.S/M.S/M.D degree holders or equivalent degree holders in the concerned specialty as recognized by the Medical Council of India and the candidates must have registered themselves either with the Indian Medical Council of State Medical Council. In case, candidates with these degrees do not apply for the position, candidates with PG Diploma in concerned specialty will be considered.

The aforesaid educational qualification is applicable for all other positions, except senior residents for hospital administration department and for this department, candidates must have completed their MD in hospital administration/MD in General Medicine. In case, candidates with these degrees do not apply for the position, candidates with PG Diploma in concerned specialty will be considered.

Age requirement: The upper age limit for Post Doctoral degree holders is 33 years, which is relaxable up to three years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST and government servants. In the case of women candidates, who are judicially separated from husband, widows and divorced women and has remained unmarried the upper age limit is 35 years, which is 40 years for SC women.
