The state of Andhra Pradesh has the richest livestock resource in the nation and in activities pertaining to the animal husbandry; it is one of the most advanced states in the nation. During the year 1892, the Civil Veterinary Department was established with the objective of offering veterinary aid to needy farmers and this was renamed as Animal Husbandry Department in the year 1948 with its main objective as prevention and treatment of disases in livestock.

Andhra Pradesh Animal Husbandry Department has invited applications from eligible candidates for the position of Veterinary Assistant Surgeons and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this respect:

Salary: Candidates selected for the position of Veterinary Assistant Surgeons, will be coming under the pay scale of Rs.18030-43630.

Eligibility requirements:

Education:

Class A positions: To apply for class A positions, candidates must be UG degree holders in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry or its equivalent from a recognized university.

Class B Positions: For Class B positions, candidates must have both UG and PG degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry from a recognized university in India or abroad.

Age: Age requirement as on the 1st of July 2011 is 18 years at lower level and 36 years at the higher level.
