Master of Science in Biotechnology is a post graduate programme that deals with the study of various aspects of technology and Biology. The course curriculum covers major topics such as protein engineering, bio-informatics and immunology etc.   The minimum eligibility required for this course is 3 year graduate degree in any of the biology subjects with at least 50 % marks in aggregate. Admission to the course is made on the basis of the score obtained in qualifying degree examination as well as personal interview. Candidates who have completed this course can seek employment in biotechnology companies and Pharma companies.

Course curriculum

The duration of the course is two years. The course is designed to provide good knowledge in DNA technology, industrial and bioprocess technology, protein engineering, bio-informatics, biopharmaceuticals and immunology. Admission process

Candidates seeking admission to this course should be Indian nationals and graduated from Indian institutions. Candidates who have competed graduation in any of subjects such as Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Home Science or Nutrition / Botany / Zoology/ Agricultural Science / Medicine are eligible for admission. They should have obtained a minimum of 50 % marks in the qualifying examination. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply. Admission to such candidates will be based on the submission of provisional degree, final year marks’ statement and Transfer certificate before the stipulated time.

Selection to the M.Sc programme is based on the scores obtained by the candidates in their qualifying examination. Eligible applicants will be shortlisted to attend the final interview conducted by the institution. Final selection for the available seats will be based on the composite score obtained by the candidate in the qualifying exam as well as in final interview.
