LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship
LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship is meant for financially backward students, pursuing higher studies (after 12th). LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation is responsible for the processing and sanctioning of scholarships and selected students will be provided with a scholarship amount of Rs.1000/- per month.
Overview of LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship
The main objective of the scholarship is to provide financial support for economically weaker students, pursuing higher studies. Only Indian students can avail the benefits of this scholarship. Other than Indian colleges/University, Industrial Training centers/institutes affiliated to the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) often make arrangements to provide this scholarship. The benefits of the scholarship are extended throughout the course duration.
Eligibility Criteria for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship
Students having completed XII class studies or equivalent from any of the recognized institutes and are pursuing vocational courses through government recognized colleges/institutes can apply for this scholarship. Those who are pursuing courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) can also avail the benefits of this scholarship. Apart from this, graduates in any discipline including engineering and medical students and diploma holders are eligible to apply. Such eligible students who have obtained not less than 60% marks (in XII class) and whose parent’s income less than Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum are provided with this scholarship.
Benefits of LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship
Selected students are awarded with a total scholarship amount of Rs. 10,000/- per annum. This is paid in installments of ten months, with Rs. 1000/- each. The amount will be transferred to the bank account of the selected student. Therefore, such candidates must provide their bank account details and IFSC code in advance.
Selection Procedure for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship
Family background and marks obtained in qualifying examination forms the basis of selection for LIC Scholar. Those with lowest annual family income will be given preference. Professional students who secure not more than 55% marks in the previous final examination of the course will be continually made available with the benefits of the scholarship. In case of Arts/Science/Commerce graduates, the cut off marks for continuing scholarship is 50%.
Conditions for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship
- Only one student from a family can avail the benefits of this scholarship
- Eligible student must have regular attendance as per the yardstick decided by the school/college/university authorities
- Must provide a valid income certificate of parents
- Violation of the terms and conditions of the scholarship, may result in its cancellation
LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation is responsible for processing and sanctioning of scholarships to qualified students. The regulations of the scholarship are entitled to change over time according to the discretion of the Board of Trustees of LICGJF.
