Scientists, Department of Science and Technology
The department of science and technology was established in the year 1971. The major functions of the department are to promote the new areas in the field of science and technology, formulate policies, supporting and giving aid to the research institute and also carry the research and development work in the new field as well the existing areas.
Job profile: The scientists will have to carry the research work in their relevant field. They will be responsible for the new find and development of new methods and procedures. They will also be required to work on projects.
Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age of 35 years for Scientist ‘B’ and ‘C’ and 50 years for Scientist ‘F’. However, the age is relaxable as per the rules.
Educational Qualifications:
For Scientist ‘B’ – A candidate must have a master’s degree in natural/agricultural science or a bachelor’s degree in engineering/medicine.
For Scientist ‘C’ – A candidate must have a master’s degree in natural/agricultural science or a bachelor’s degree in engineering/medicine with a minimum of 4 years experience. A candidate with a doctoral degree will be given the preference.
For a Scientist ‘F’ – A candidate must have the same qualifications as for the scientist ‘C’ but with a minimum of 12 years experience.
No. of posts: There are 4 posts (2-UR and 2 OBC) for scientist ‘B’, 2 posts (2-UR) for scientist ‘C’ and 2 posts (2-UR) for scientist ‘F’.
Pay scale: The scientist ‘B’ and ‘C’ will get a pay scale of Rs15600-39100 with a grade pay of Rs5400 and Rs6600 respectively and the scientist ‘F’ will get a pay scale of Rs37400-67000 with a grade pay of Rs8900.
Selection process: The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance during the interview.

The candidates must also send a self attach post card with the required stamp with the application.
