National Post Graduate College (NPG) is an autonomous college affiliated to Lucknow University. It offers postgraduate and/or undergraduate courses in areas like Commerce, Science, Arts, Management Science, Education and Computer.

Courses offered

The faculty of Arts at National Post Graduate college offers English literature, Geography, Economics, Anthropology, Education, Political Science, Hindi literature, Computer, Statistics, Psychology and Mathematics under its Bachelor of Arts programme. Students have the flexibility of choosing a combination of three subjects among those listed above. However, Education and Psychology cannot be taken together.

NPG College also offers postgraduate courses under its arts faculty. It offers Master of Science or Master of Arts in Anthropology. Two other Masters programmes offered are in Geography and Psychology. A Certificate Course in Forensic Science is also offered under the arts faculty.

B.Com and M.Com are the two degree courses offered by the faculty of Commerce.

Faculty of Science offers B.Sc degree (with any three subjects) including Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer-Science, Statistics, Electronics and Physics. It offers Bachelor of Science group with Zoology, Chemistry, Anthropology and Botany.

The faculty of Computer Science offers a Bachelor of Computer Application programme. B.A. with Computer Application and B.Sc with Computer Science are handled by Computer Science faculty.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Management Science (BMS) are offered under the Management Science faculty. Both these courses are suitable for making a career in the field of management.

The faculty of Education offers both B.A and M.A courses.

Selection Procedure

Candidates are required to fill the application forms in prescribed format as per the guidelines. The format can be accessed from the prospectus of the college. Specific documents like High School or Class 10 mark list or an equivalent, the 10+2 mark list or an equivalent and the mark list of the examination last appeared are to be attached along with the application.

NPG College follows strict rules regarding the conduct of prospective students. Accordingly candidates are required to submit a verification certificate from District Magistrate/Superintendent of Police stating that the candidate has a clean record and is not involved in any trial or under suspicion specified under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Candidates are also required to furnish conduct/character certificate issued by the head of the institution where they have last studied. In the case of students who have passed their last examination as private candidate, the character certificate will have to be obtained from the District Magistrate, a Gazetted officer or the Superintendent of Police.
