AIEEE Exam Pattern
All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is carried out by the CBSE together with the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, MHRD. This exam is conducted to admit students to some of the top institutions in the country like IIT’s, NIT’s and other state level engineering colleges. The entrance in to these colleges purely depends in the rank secured by the participant in the AIEEE exam. The students who have secured high score will get an admission call from most of the renowned colleges in India.
From this year onwards, the AIEEE is also offering online exam to around 1 lakh students. It will be allotted on the first come first serve basis. Rest of the students can give the exam in the traditional paper based pattern. The AIEEE exam are mainly carried out to select qualified candidates to the BE/B. Tech courses and also B.Arch/B. Planning courses offered in the top most colleges in the country.
Syllabus for AIEEE
The syllabus for AIEEE exam is entirely based on 12th class syllabus from different State Boards of School Education like CBSE, ICSE, ISE and other state boards. Students have to be well versed with the Class 11 and 12th syllabus (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and can conveniently use their preparations for Class 12 Exam for scoring good rank in the AIEEE exam. The AIEEE exam is usually held during the end of April or in the beginning of May every year.
Question Pattern of AIEEE
The AIEEE Examination at present includes two papers.
- Paper 1 is for candidates of BE/B.Tech and
- Paper 2 is for candidates of B.Arch/ B. Planning course.
BE/B.Tech AIEEE examination will be carried out for a time of 3 hours. The exam has objective type questions from Class XI and XII PCM subjects.
Equal marks are allotted to every part of the subjects. Every question has four choices. Students have to select the correct option amongst the available. There is a minus marking 25% for each incorrect answer.
As for the B.Arch/B. Planning exam the time allotted will also be of 3 hours. It will have three different parts which include Math’s, Aptitude test and Drawing test. This exam is intended to assess the aptitude, skills, ingenuity, responsiveness and observation of the candidates.
The scorecards with the concerned ranks and individual Marks are put up on the website together with the results.
